Painting as connection, intuition, and persistence.
The interconnectivity of all things has long fascinated me philosophically, visually, and intuitively. I am drawn to the mystery of existence: how forms echo each other in nature, how patterns repeat, and how meaning seems to hover just beneath the surface.
My abstract paintings emerge from this curiosity, built through layered, instinctive mark-making where colour, texture, and fragments of earlier decisions remain present in the final work. Painting is both play and persistence. At times it feels effortless and joyful; at others, uncertain and demanding, but I keep returning, compelled to explore and make sense of what I cannot quite articulate in words.
Language itself interests me too: how words shape reality, how they might sit within or beneath the surface of a painting. Living in Tasmania, I am inspired by the shifting textures and colours of the landscape. Ultimately, my work is an ongoing process of connection, discovery, and making visible the unseen.
